This is my 2000th post! I just wanted to thank GDNet and all the people on it for being such an excellent community. With your help I have matured as a programmer beyond comprehension! In fact, I just received my first check for doing programming work. $1500 for only approximately 20 hours of work! It wasn't game related, but without the help of the members of GameDev.net, there is no way I ever would have developed into the programmer I am today. The insightful discussions and brilliant minds here are some of the greatest resources I have ever come in contact with. You all are constantly challenging my intellect and opening my mind, and that is why I love this site. Thank you all for being part of what I consider to be the best site on the internet.

On a semi-related note - I noticed that there are around 109,000 members on GameDev. For some reason I expected there to be more (given the amount of posts in the lounge etc). Not sure what I was expecting actually, but I would have thought out of the entire worlds population, that more than 109,000 would be interested in game development! :) Granted, not everyone of those would sign up to a forum, but still...
