Hi Guys, I have several problems using MDI & wondering if you can tell me how to solve them?: 1. I don't want to be able to move the subforms. I position them when I initialise the parent form. 2. I don't want to be able to resize the subforms, except for maximising them. 3. I don't want to be able to close the subforms. 4. I want to disable scrolling on the parent form. Thanks for any help

Are you sure you want MDI :) ?

Perhaps you should take a look at other solutions not only because what you want requires a lot of hacking in MDI but also because users will probably not understand why a MDI app doesn't work like a regular MDI app...

Perhaps I am wrong... But it feels a bit like: I am using this screwdriver to fasten this screw but I only want to make hammering motions...

Perhaps you could tell us a little bit more and we might have some alternative solutions to you problem.

Cheers

What ernow said. What you're describing isn't an MDI app. I'd think an app that looked MDI that did this was broken. [grin]

Thanks for the advise guys,

I'm making a modelling program. I wanted to have 4 rendering sub forms with menubars & wanted to be able to maximise one of the rendering Forms.

I've now just placed 4 panels inside the main form and am going to write code to do the things I mentioned.

Cheers.
