Hey How can I join one? Can anyone explain how or let me join? I don't know any programming at the moment, but know how it all works kinda! I've been reading a few books, php, c++, but not keeping at it. I think if I joined a team it would help me. So... If anyone wants to take a newby, let me know which language I need to study/learn. Thank you.

I'm sorry to crush your dreams, but I personally don't think that you should join an MMORPG-team when you don't have much experience with the programming language.

MMORPG requires alot of knowledge and experience to make. So I believe that if you found an MMORPG-team that would accept you, you would probably understand most of the code.

Joining an existing team might help you learn, but don't be fixated on MMORPGs - such projects are quite complex and it would most likely be difficult for a beginner to contribute much (plus, you might just end up getting discouraged).

You might instead consider joining a team working on a smaller project (such as a 2D arcade game), or (perhaps better yet) spend some time developing some basic skills first and then offer your services to a team.

Whatever you choose to do, the place you're looking for is the Help Wanted forum here on gdnet. There you can post to offer your services, or browse existing posts to see what interests you.

Good luck!

Hi,

if you send dave whapham an email (dave@whapham.net), he is starting up a team using the TrueVision3D engine using VB.NET, you can download the engine at http://www.truevision3d.com and get a copy of Visual Basic .NET 2005 Express Edition.
