Hi! I am currently working on DirectSound I have finished the code. I am stuck because I want to store/save the sound captured by the buffer to a soundfile so that I can confirm if it is the same with my input. What is the command to do this? If so where can I find or open the soundfile? I have used the memcpy command to store the input from the buffer. Thanks!

Why not create a IDirectSoundBuffer8 to play back the data? The process will be much the same: create it, lock it, copy the data in, unlock it and play.
Alternatively, you could get hold of some audio software that is capable of decoding a raw PCM stream.
