As I posted over in Graphics Programming and Theory, I am trying my hand at developing a 3D file format, starting very basic at first with a simple static mesh. I figurd the easiest way to get something up and running would be to load the info from my file and place it into a vertex buffer, an index buffer and set the appropriate properties of the Mesh class. The problem is that for models that have a texture associated with them, there's no properties or anything in the Mesh class that allow me to provide the texture data to the mesh. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to work around that, but I figured there would something about textures in there. Also, if anyone thinks/knows they have an easier way of doing this for a beginner, please enlighten me. I'm just getting my feet wet right now and I'd rather make my first experience as smooth as possible. I've got it to compile so far, but that doesn't say anything about the soundness of the code [grin]. Thanks for any help. -AJ
