Team name: MadGizmo Project name: Working Title: Atomic (could change though) Brief description: Atomic has briefly been in production for a few months, it is open source and for the GNU/Linux systems. To say it in shortest terms, Atomic is a dynamic molecular engine. Games like New Sand (A Sand Falling Game) show a 2D example of its capabilities, though instead of being 2D it will be 3D. It will not only be used to create games, it can be used for scientific research and much more. Chemicals can react to each other, things will be made out of tons of micro spheres, similar to atoms. Each will have properties and creating things with them will be amazingly realistic. A scripting language will be created to help create games and much more. Target aim: Open Source. Compensation: Pay will come while it is in development stages but not until we can make revenue off sponsors and ads. Technology: GNU/Linux C/C++ Current plans to use KDevelop and SVN. OpenGL Blender Talent needed: C/C++ programmers that are wishing to create a new type of engine, for more then just game making, learning is the main reason for this engine, and thats why it will be open source so even developers can learn from it. Additional Info: I currently had to rewrite it from scratch and have been having a hard time, my old programming architecture was poor and hard to update, it is basically from scratch again. I am also not the best C/C++ programmer and wishing to learn, this project is currently a one man army. Also, sorry for this not being very descriptive, I have never done a project like this and am still thinking about many things we will use, I didn't post the design document with this because it is not finished, hopefully someone can help with this too. I also currently use the Gentoo distribution, with KDE, though this engine is meant to be created for everyone in the GNU/Linux systems. I also understand this is some what unrealistic, but I think it would be a great project to work on with tons of developers to really bring more people to GNU/Linux. Feedback: Any
