I've updated the "reference" networking library Etwork to version 0.3. It's only been a year since the last update; I figured it was time :-) Get it here!. New in this version is mostly the bits about managing binary blocks of data for messages, and a #define-based system to do marshaling and demarshaling of structs (including structs containing std::string members). I've also added a Game Networking Library Manifesto which lists the different capabilities that you'd want to build into a generic game networking library, in some number of layers, and each layer split into functional libraries. I can't say that it's likely that Etwork will ever support all of these functions, but it can serve as a good guide for anyone trying to evaluate or implement networking libraries. Please let me know what you think!
