I was wondering what is meant in the Physx API by Islands.. Comments from PxScene.h // Generate the island of a specific actor (does not activate or deactivate any actors, just build an island) // Get number of active islands // Get number of actors in a specific island (island index from zero to getIslandCount()-1 // Get whether the island has contact with a static actor (Somewhat hackish for adaptive force, and only valid for active islands)

I cant say for sure since I havn't used Physx but usualy in this context 'islands' is used to describe a group of objects that are all in simultaneous contact, either directly or indirectly. For example say you have 5 objects A,B,C,D,E. If A touches B, B touches C, and D touches E, you have 2 collision islands. One containing ABC, the other DE. Note that ABC forms an isnland even though A and C dont touch directly but are in indirect contact because they both touch B.
