I wanted to post in beginers forum but it is about simbian, so i put it here... Anyway, i got some books about simbian programming and i want to know what do i need to make some examples work, like some sort of kits or something or some mobile phone emulator. I know that almost each phone has some different stuffs realted to simbian, but it would be enough to start with one kind. What do i need to download and where??? Anyone knows some useful download links?? thanks in advance

Any specific reason why you want to go native and not use Java? Unfortunately JNI isn't support as far as I know so you will have to do everything natively if you start with symbian. (On this front MS is actually better allowing the mixing of managed code with native)

Java is slow on mobiles. To make non-trivial physical simulation or image processing, or any other relatively heavy calculation in Java would be, hmm, unwise. In native c++ it's marginally acceptable.

The slowness is becoming less and less of a factor IMHO. Going native is still necessary for many applications to get around Java's sandbox limitations.
