[java] Graphs and Java

I have need to draw a couple of graphs in Java, both with a grid and with just the x axis and y axis. Before I got started on actually coding this, I was wondering if there are any implementations of this in the Java API or if there was any general suggests/pointers in going about doing this. Thanks!

Most useful thing I can think of in the API would be Java2D. fillarc makes pie charts very easy and the curves, textures, gradients and alpha stuff can look quite professional if used well.

There is a very nice free chart api called JFreeChart. I don't know if it satisfy your needs and IIRC it is quite hard to use to to lack of documentation and complexity, but they could also have improved it...
