ive just started with flash since yesterday pretty easy (already finished a game :) ) but a lot of the stuff seems dumbed down, eg i can write the following bool data = false; data = tre; // whoops typo, yet it doesnt get picked up is there somehow i can enable the interpreter to pick this up? i know from experience that whilst having the interpertor/compiler being not to fussy makes it easier for beginners to get somethin up + running, ultimately its a terrible method cause it lets bugs slip unnoticed into your code, which can cause hard to dinf problems later on.

As far as I'm aware, Actionscript (which is similar to &#106avascript) is a dynamically scoped language so it's generally impossible for the compiler to know, at any given point in the program, what variables are in or out of scope, or what properties do or don't exist on a given object.<br/><br/>Maybe you can run your code through a &#106avascript lint-type program though which may pick up really stupid stuff.<br><br>Mark

you can use mtasc (www.mtasc.org), with the -strict mode enabled.

MTASC try to correct several safety problems that occurs when using Macromedia Compiler (MMC). It is a more strict compiler that can detect more errors and help you write better programs.
