I wasn't sure where to put this, but decided on here as it's a "general" question relating to programming. I have windows installed to a very small harddrive. When I compile, it eats up space on that drive at an alarming rate and capacity. Is there a way to switch where all the intermediate files and whatnot gets processed at? I'm using VC8.

In VC 2005, it's Project Properties/Configuration Properties/General/Intermediate Directory. Used as $(IntDir)

I don't have VC8 here to test, but isn't there an option in project settings that lets you specify the intermediate files folder? If not, you could always change the output directory, and then set up a post build step to do: "copy d:\temp\foo\Release\Program.exe Program.exe" or something to copy the generated program to your compiling dir.
