I can guarantee that you're not the youngest. We often have 12-13 y/o posts here. You can often tell which ones they are by the complete lack of punctuation and coherency. [grin]

Everyone on the intarweb is the same age: Unknown.

I am 8 and have been visiting here since I was 4 and a half.

Does it really matter? I'm 16, started visiting when I was 12 and I'm sure there are plenty of other kids around that age now.

I'll point out that some of you should probably not post your age. There are some people who will look down on you if you're very young, and on a professional forum such as GameDev we should all try to remain as equals.

I'm 95, and still kickin' [lol]

My age is variable. Whatever you post, I'll act like I'm one year older. [smile]

Also, it has been mentioned in the past that it is against the US law for GDnet to collect the info of minors under 13 years of age. Not sure if that is true though.

I believe the minimum age to register on this site is 13. So if anyone is younger, THEY ARE TEH ILEGAL ALIENZ!!OMG11!1!!

I'm 15, registered when I was 13 (didn't post much though, until a few months ago). Never think you're the youngest - it's not unusual for people 13 (and under) to be on boards, and hardly unusual for people to be taking their first forays into programming at around 6/7.

However, it's depressingly common for the younger posters to be quite... inane. (Exception granted to everyone in this thread, of course)

COPPA: Children's Online Privacy Protection Act forbids the collection of personal information for those under 13 years without written permission of a guardian.
Possibly the most futile piece of legislation ever, it has to be said...

On a professional forum we should be mature enough to ignore age IMO (not sure whether that is actually the case though).

You would think so. But I've seen some intelligent-seeming teenagers be shrugged off or criticized here, especially from Help Wanted, because they are too young to be able to do X.

Within the last few hours, my age has changed to 53.

Sorry, but when you're 13, you really are too young to build a cheap but powerful console with custom designed processors and write an MMORPG for it.

Yes, but it had a really cool name! :) (Yes, that particular instance was a bit naive)

Ah, the Crystal Tiger. I can't believe I actually live in the same city as those guys. I remember seeing those posts before I joined, and would just wander the forums.

Err, didn't mean to get off topic. I'm actually 13, turning 14 pretty soon though.

I'm almost 17, started coming here when I was 11 or so for the articles and registered on the forums when I turned 13. I then proceeded to post many naive and clueless (but fortunately grammatically correct) messages in various threads.
