Yes, CBS, as in the Columbia Broadcasting Corporation. I don't know about anyone else here, but I just recently heard about/started watching a TV series by the name of Jericho. I tried watching it from the CBS website, but the episodes are blocked so that anyone outside the US can't watch them. I managed to find all the episodes on YouTube (luckily), and was able to catch up to where the show is currently at. Today I went to go watch the preview of episode 14 (which is supposed to be on TV tomorrow evening), and lo and behod, CBS had cracked down on YouTube. No more Jericho. I can't really blame them for doing so, but I am disappointed that I can't even watch the shows from the CBS website. Darn you CBS! So... on a lighter note, has anyone else here been watching Jericho? For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a show about this small town - Jericho, Kansas. [*spoiler removed*] have set off numerous nuclear bombs across the US, destroying many major cities. The show is about the people in this small town, and thier survival. I wouldn't call it a realistic portrayal of such an event, but it is still entertaining. (I espeically liked the episode where they went to the nearby town to get medicine from the hospital. I thought it was a pretty cool episode). [Edited by - Moe on March 6, 2007 11:55:37 PM]

You know, growing up we didn't even have a VCR, so it was either catch the show when it was on or go without. Even today, there are shows that I like to watch, but half the time I miss them because I'd rather play a game or read a book. I just can't understand such a burning need in people to watch a show that it leads them to violate copyright laws.

Don't worry. He and the rest of his pirate ilk will be in Hell soon enough.

I am not justifying the breaking of copyright laws. What I would like is to be able to watch the show (with ads, which I don't mind), online. It's not that I have a burning desire to watch the show, but it is nice to be able to catch any episodes I may have missed. What I don't understand is why CBS doesn't allow anyone outside the US to watch it off thier site.

This makes me curious - can people in the US watch TV show episodes from ctv.ca (or any other Canadian station, for that matter)?

I'm aware of the show but haven't watched it. It seems to me that the reason they block the shows is because they broadcast them months after they broadcast them here. I gave away a spoiler to Battlestar Galatica the other day because I forgot about that - at least as it applied to Ireland.

Can people in the US watch TV show episodes from ctv.ca? I don't know. Drop a link and let's find out.

Hmm, good point. I hadn't thought of that.

linky - I think it should play an episode of Corner Gas (albeit, after an ad or two). Hopefully that works.

Awww, man. Why did it have to be terrorists on Jericho? I was kind of hoping it was some sort of insane Cold War paranoia or a broken computer or something.

Nope. It says: "Sorry, Copyrights restrict us from playing this video outside of Canada. It appears your internet connection originates outside of Canada."

Okay, I guess that answers that question. Bit of a shame really. I guess I can stop blaming CBS and start blaming copyright laws. Oh well.

Rav: sorry for the spoiler.
