I’ve looked around and the documentation on building boost but what I have for 2003 doesn’t seam to work with 2005. Jam core dumps after its built so I’m at a loss as to how to build this. So is there another write up or known issues with 2005? http://www.codeproject.com/tips/Building_boost_libraries.asp

Is this actually Visual Studio 2005 or just Visual C++ Express? My personal experience is that installation for Visual Studio 2005 was pretty easy (just download Jam and build the project), but I remember having to edit a couple of files to get it to work in the Express edition.

True indeed, the details can be found here

thanks, I'll give that a go. I'm using something other than Express, not sure which one.

Then you should have no problems if you follow the link Omid Ghavami gave you.

I found this installer a while ago. Installation was then very easy - just run installer, select what it should download and that was all. After that I had to set-up include and library directories in the VS and it worked fine. No compilation was necessary. Only problem may be if you are on a slower connection since that installer downloads quite a lot of data.
