Hi everyone. I have a program that I made in directx that I am trying to run on a computer. The computer did not have directx and I could not install it b/c it was a guest account. So i downloaded the neccessary dlls: d3d9, d3dx9_32, DDRAW, Kernel32. I now get an error that says something like this: "The procedure entry point MakeCriticalSectionGlobal could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll" Is there any way to fix this? The program works on other computers.

You can't just install DirectX by copying over a bunch of DLLs. That's likely to screw up the system fairly majorly.

All I can suggest is logging in as Administrator and installing DirectX properly - and hoping it installs correctly after your modifications.

Do you have any idea how many versions of kernel32.dll there are? Having a bogus kernel32 in your application directory (or, god forbid, in system32) is an excellent way to introduce a cornucopia of mysterious bugs into otherwise perfect programs.

Evil Steve's answer may not sound too appealing, but it really is your only viable option.

Okay. It was a school computer so I couldn't log on as an admin. I guess they deleted directx or something so you couldn't play games on them. Oh well.
