Hmm.. Fancy Window program

I think they do it by drawing a DirectX area over the top of the area of screen that they want. Maybe they use a few layers, but I am not sure... I can see how it is possible to do by just making a lot of very small directX layers that just conform to your shape... you could even make circular windows

I''m still wondering, tho, about how mouse clicks are handled on areas that are supposed to transparent and therefore the mouse should be clicking on what is behind the window... does this cause a problem? Or does the hidden aspect mean that it defaults to clicking on the program behind unless it clicks on the hotspot for the bitmaps?

I think what you''re wondering about dwarfsoft would be convered by some WM_NCHITEST documentation.

I am going to make a program that uses round windows EXCLUSIVELY just to spite windows by taking up the most space with the least functionality per pixel as possible

Interesting... I will have a little play around with that source code and see what I can do using M$VC. It could be quite fun... Or maybe I will just use DX like I was going to before
