Nobody answered my DDutil question, so I hope somebody answers this at least. Its like this. I have 4 files, 2 made by Micro$oft, ddutil.cpp, dxutil.cpp (required for ddutil), Sprite.cpp, and PongMain.cpp. With the appropriate .h, except for PongMain, since it is my main file. They each compile okay, but when I do a .exe compile I get about 45 linking errors to the general format Sprite.obj error __IID__DirectX7blahblah already in PongMain.obj Anybody have any idea of what is going on here? I''ve tried making a new project with the old files, in case the old one was corrupted. I''ve tried a total rebuild. I dunno, I''m tearing my hair out. If you would like the code, give me your email, and I''ll zip it up and send it to you. -Blackstream Will you, won''t you, will you, won''t you, won''t you take my virus? -The Mad Hacker Blackstream''s Webpage

If you search for your problem you''ll get a million hits on this webboard alone.... The problem is that the linker cannot find the IID''s for the DX interfaces. Do one of the following:

1) add dxguid.lib to your project;

2) OR #define INITGUID at the top of your program and #include

This should fix it.

Thanks for all your help. I figured out the problem. DeVore, It''s ironic, one of my problems was that I #defined INITGUID too many times instead of not at all. My other problem was that I didn''t include winmm.lib.

Thanks again.
