Sorry, the Wii hasn’t fallen to 200 USD... I've recently been acquiring insane amounts of money for celebratory purposes (HS graduation), which has now accumulated to $600. I discovered that a neighborhood kid is selling his Nintendo Wii for $200. I've heard a lot of good things about the Wii, and it's local and international sales only help validate said opinion. I also realize how insane it is that I can actually find a Wii for sale, especially one $50 less than retail price. Please share any personal experiences with the Wii, and any opinions on my possible purchase. Thanks!

Sounds like it's broken or defective in some way. One thing I've heard about them is that the disc feeding mechanism is susceptable to shock-damage: make sure you see that it eats and ejects both Wii and Gamecube discs smoothly - it should never "fail" to eat a disc, and the eating shouldn't be jumpy or studdery.

Caveat emptor: if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.

I love my Wii, but I am starting to think I wouldn't enjoy playing with it so much if I didn't have somebody else to play with it with me. So if you will only be playing with your Wii by yourself, I am not sure I'd recommend it [wink]

Couldn't resist ;)

Thanks, hopefully they'll let me test it before hand. If not, then I'll know what the problem is.

Nintendo's warranty is pretty good unless there's obvious evidence of mistreatment; the only issue is that you'd be waiting awhile for a replacement part since the damn things won't stay on store shelves.

I'd still wait for a new one; nothing's like unpacking a new machine.

A guy at work had his son buy a wii about a month or two after it came out from one of his friends. I think he paid 200$ and hasn't had any problems. Sometimes you just need 200$ more than you need your Wii.

Still you raise a valid point.

Agreed. The Wii has some decent single-player games, but multi-player games are a blast.

Anyway, I would definitely recommend buying it, just so you can play Brawl online [wink]

It just took me about 5 minutes of staring dumbly at the "22.6" before I finally caught on. You mean 6/22 for us Americans, right [happy]

Only trouble I've had with mine was one time the power went out for about 3 seconds in my aparentment, and I didn't have it plugged into one of my battery backups. Aparently it fried the power cord. Nintendo asked if I could try the cord in another Wii (which I had a friend who had one), when we proved it wast he cord and not the Wii, they just sent me a new one).

Isn't it already out in the US?

I didn't realize it was already out either. I should go buy a copy. EDIT: Wait, no, I have no friends to play it with. LOL.
