How do you use SDL?

Original Post
I happen to have a copy of Python, PyGame, and SDL for going to make a game with the three... only I have a few problems. 1. I don't have my computer at home, I'm using the town library's computer (one of them, anyway). 2. I have yet to learn Python. 3. I ABSOLUTELY (correct me for misspelling if wrong) don't know how to use libraries like SDL in the FIRST place!! Now that the three problems are out of the way for mentioning, I would like a way to use SDL for 2D games, and then would like to learn how to use OpenGL after that. Thanks for your time for this. See you when I can!!
Uh, read the tutorials, maybe? Not being mean, but there are several tutorials online at the PyGame website and even the Cone3d tutorials (those use C++, though) on using SDL. Google can be your best friend. Does the library charge for printing? If not, print out the tutorials and study them at home. And you should post on the boards when you encounter a concept you don't understand.
No Cone3d for ya. This is the ultimate beginner's SDL tutorial: Lazy Foo's Productions.
personally i have grown on cone3d tuts, it was fun because you are actually making games in these tutorials, but lazyfoo tuts are also great ;)
I would skip the tutorials posted here as they're relevant to C based languages where you're using python. I would go straight to the pygame documentation.

In order to learn Python, there is a freely downloadable textbook at Green Tea Press. If you scroll down the window, you can download the PDF version and print it wherever possible. It will teach you the basics of Python finishing with a text-based version of Old Maid.
The reason I recommend this book even though there are others more up-to-date is that there is a C++ version and Java version of the same book so you can learn all 3 languages fairly easily with them.
