I''m working on a terrain engine (it seemed to be the popular thing so I gave it a go) and for large terrains it starts to run really slow since I draw everything every frame. How do I go about finding out if my polys are offscreen so I know weather or not to draw them? Cheez ------------------------------ If you were supposed to understand it, we wouldn''''t call it code

One of the easier methods for occlusion using terrain is a quadtree. There is a tutorial around here somewhere about quadtrees. You''ll have to come up with the frustrum checking equation on your own though (the article is pretty general). There are other optimization techniques that I am not as familiar with such as LOD and ROAM.
