Rotating Transformed Points

Hi, I have a star field particle system, and I''d like to be able to allow rotations (up down, left right etc). All the particles in my system are pre-transformed and lit. I''ve chosen to make it so the larger the z value, the further away the particle is from the user (thus its smaller). How would I go about simulating a rotation with these particles? I''d need to create new ones as they move off the screen, since theres a fixed amount of particles on the screen at any moment. I tried using a rotation about the y axis matrix, but that just displays junk (I''m not sure why either). I''ve tried just changing their z-values in various patterns, but nothing looks realistic. I want the feeling that you are turning your head while looking at the stars, and I can''t seem to get it! Can anyone offer any ideas? I''m new to this 3D programming stuff, and can''t think of any! Thanks, IceGod

Why do you need to rotate the stars? why not rotate the view (ie camera).

Because the stars are pre-transformed. I tried applying a view matrix type matrix to the stars vertices, but it doesn''t work. I''ve tried rotations and all sorts of stuff, all I get is junk.
