Project name: Edifice Brief description: Edifice is a small FPS made by a few people who are relative newbies to game making. It is a simple game where the forces of hell are trying to destroy the earth and you are attempting to defeat them. Currently we have very little done as I am the only programmer and we are just planning. Target aim: We are planning to post on Source forge and be open source. The project will not be big but is a stepping stone for us. Compensation: The project is non-profit I'm sorry to say. No need to worry as you will be payed in experience and things to put on your resume :P Technology: The plan is to use C++ with SDL/OpenGL but as I am the only programmer and I am not too experienced if any more experienced programmer wish to join and use another setup (preferably C++ at least) I am willing to change. Talent needed: A fairly skilled programmer is wanted but anyone willing to help can tag along if they wish. As I said before preferably a good C++ programmer. Team structure: Currently we have me (The programmer), a designer, and project manager and a 3D Renderer. Website: We are currently applying for a Source Forge page which has yet to be approved. Contacts: You can add my MSN email chubbthehacker@hotmail.com Previous Work by Team: None Additional Info: Currently we have little but the basis of the storyline and some gathered textures. Feedback: Any feedback at all is appreciated

Questions:
Your own engine or a pre-developed engine?
How big are you planning this to be?
Multiplayer/Single Player?
Proof of Concept or Full game?

Suggestions:
Maybe a more detailed description of your game.

Specific people in help wanted, i.e. (Graphics Programmers, Sound Programmers (OpenAL), Concept Artists, 3d Modellers, Level Designers, etc.)

Newbies to game making... making a FPS. I can tell you now, this is a bad idea, from my own experience. A FPS should be one of the games you make down the line of experience. As a complete beginner, you should start with a side scroller. Once that's done, 2d rpg. After that a 3d rpg, or port the 2d to 3d. RPG will allow you to work on graphics since AI is a little more simple ( or rather scripted). After that, maybe a FPS.

If you still decide to do a FPS, then instead of asking for Newbies, you might want to surround yourself with more experience people so, at the very least, you'll learn....

That's all. Best of luck.
