Yeah, they're probably waiting for the big announcement that you've gotten your hands on all your software. As soon as they see that one hit the trade dailies, you'll surely be getting more queries than you can swat a Wiimote at.
still trying to find publisher

Well, I wish that were my only problem.

Just a suggestion, why don't you submit it to Download.com site (if not already). Subscribe to their mid-tier service ( I believe it is $10/month ). This way, you have a mechanism to collect money and its hosted on their site.
If people will download the game, you might start getting customer feedback. Which in turn will give you the opportunity to modify the game. Who knows, could be the sleeper hit.
It won't hurt.
This sounds like a great idea. I think there's even a free listing available, you'd be able to showcase your game, get feedback on it, and build a better version without having to spend anything. The uploading software part is at http://www.upload.com/. Have a read through and see if this is what you're looking for.
It's not the same as having a publisher, but hey, it's a step towards getting your game to the masses. At the very worst, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that people are playing your game.
It does sound promising. Of course, I would still prefer a publisher, but I'll take what I can get.

Have any of you guys worked with Alawar before? I was just wondering if they typically take this long to respond to submissions.

Anyone? Well, it might not make much difference either way, since Alawar seems to have a rather heavy emphasis on casual games.
However, Alawar does seem to have a lot of techy Space Invaders-esque stuff, so I think my game should have a fighting chance with this company. But they still haven't written anything back to me.

I am well into giving the game a major overhaul. It will be a while before it's ready, but it is definitely scheduled now.

I think even if your game happens to fail on the market, it is still a great achievment. Any serious game company would look closer to a resume containing such a product so I really think you have nothing to lose. Good luck with it.
Thanks! I appreciate it.

I just checked out your demo, and I like it, but I agree with the suggestions offered about the UI. It could use some work visually, and I also think that it's far too big--it gets in the way of the gameplay.
The game would also be more user friendly if you included a minimap instead of a radar. Even better if the player could pull up a full map and see what areas they haven't explored yet.
The text in the beginning of campaign mode should also probably be shortened. Even hardcore gamers don't usually have the patience for long, text-only monologues, and casual gamers have even less of an attention span. Personally, I'd cut it down to a paragraph or two.
All of that said, I'm very impressed with the demo considering it's a one-person job (I assume).
