Hi Guys, I have just started to programme in windows using Borland C++ 5.0 , I can create windows buttons etc, using windows API, I can''t seem to find any documentation on creating Grids though, Lists, Buttons etc are all mentioned!! but not grids, Are grids not standard windows API, do I have to create all the code to make grids myself ? Or is there a easier way ?? Thanks, MK83

So just do it yourself
Creating a grid is as easy as using a for loop with a couple of GDI functions (That draws lines and stuff).

I think by "grid" he means something like a table. maybe even something like a short version of a spreadsheet.

A table? Maybe a ListView control is what you need (Really easy to use).

Yep, something like a small spreadsheet, It''s one of those standard controls that you get with VB and Visual C etc, I always thought that it would be part of the standard windows API,

Tornado, I don''t know what a Listview looks like or how it is used, could you give me an example of it ?

Cheers,

Sure.
Goto My Computer.
Now here's a ListView control
It can have severel ways of showing the items inside of it (->View->Choose the type you want).
Alot of programs use the ListView control (For displaying files and such).

[EDIT]
Forgot to mention that the view you would probably be interested in is Details. The vertical and horizontal lines (To seperate between the items) can be added with a few simple steps as well (Look in the MSDN).

Now I feel a real arse, thanks, yep I guess I do know what a Listbox looks like !!! :-).That might work, not quite what I''m looking for, but it might just work, it''ll be easier than writing all the code myself.

Thanks again,
MK83
