If you could design a CPU, which (new) functions would you implement? I''m just interested in what you''re missing in todays CPUs.

Single cycle float to int conversion ... or do the newer CPUs already have it?

Definitly single-cycle program compiliation. I hate waiting

I''d want the CPU to distrubute acohol based beverages whenever I press the TAB key. Or wouldn''t that be a device?

Signatures? We don''t need no stinking signatures!

oN A more serious note, how about a CPU that can become more powerful my stacking multiple SPus in a tower on top of one another (multi-CPU systems, 1 socket on board)

Um, this is the CISC way of thinking, which got us into this mess in the first place.

Single cycle program compilation? If you''re that much of a speed freak, you''d be using assembly, and assemblers don''t have any speed problems (at least NASM doesn''t).
