Why?

Okay, I seem to have been banned from the Gamedev.net chat channel, for ''Abuse and, most recently, threats of CTCP Floods''. I cannot seem to remember abusing anybody, or flooding channels. By the way, this is true and sincere. If I truly did abuse anybody, I am really sorry, but I have NO recollection whatsoever of flooding any channel, unless, perhaps, an imposter did it, seriously. Actually, I don''t even know what CTCP floods are, so, I just want to post the question....... why? I have not realised I have abused anybody, and if I did, I''m sorry. No, its called "unloading on some poor sob". Another good way is to go to a public phone, pick a number from the phone book at random and just abuse the crap outta whom ever picks it up. It makes you feel a lot better after especially if its an elderly.

Damn straight, it can also be as addictive as hell plus its illegal so if you''re tempted.... :p Another way is to find something you hate (like a singer or sport) go to a forum based on that thing you hate then let it all go. I used to do that to a sega forum, unintentionally at first then once i realised what the people were like who went there i kept that site as an ace up my sleeve and then when i had a real bad day, OH YEAH BABY, OH YEAH!

Actually WHY would anyone do that here? A lot of us admit to being losers, admit to not having a life, admit to staying up all night using a computer, and admit to being the stereotypical nerd so what could possibly piss us off? Asides from communism...but that''s not my point! Well, at least I admit to most of that, but that''s not my point either! Then again, when does anything I say have a point?

Ok how about ringing up a random person and saying something nice? Its just as satisfying... i tried it on the operator once when it was christmas.. it was quite sad that he was actually happy but hey!

Oh yes and I admit to be cowardly and using online phone services to ring random numbers without my mic plugged in. A few minutes of people freaking out [it was like 3.00am] and i''m done but.... be careful cos here in the UK the police will come and checkup if you prank call with a phone box if they have nothing else to do.. happened to me :/ never ring BT they call the police after 2 minutes - if they keep talking its only to trace your call ouch!

All that call tracing stuff is a load of crap. Because in movies they have to keep someone on the line for X amount of seconds people think that that''s how it works in real life. Anyone used a mobile lately?

I get served extra at the canteen; there can be a wall of people in front of me in the pub, if the bartender sees me (which is hard since I am 1m62) all I have to do is raise the finger and I get served (hilarious to do on St Paddy''s day);I get "discount prices" in some cafes I go to, etc

Simply because I say "hello", I say "thanks", I smile at people, and they smile back at me, I stop to chat 5 minutes even if I have other things to do...

I get noticed just for that.That and the fact that I am a french assistant lecturer in computing, with long hair and glasses and a slightly darker skin than them ginger skinned people

Damn good said. You''re not allowed to get pissed. However, the only thing you can do in your life, I mean the only valid, the only legal thing, is to seek the truth and to learn things. It should not be fun, nor should it be boring. It should be (and is) meaningless.
