There are a ton of resources about calling web services from JS but they all seem to assume you develop your service in .Net and use the special objects in IE. I was expecting to find tutorials on using AJAX to make a simple HTTP request to a web-service but either this isn't the right way to do it, or I can't find examples. Anyone done this or know where I might look?
