I know we're not supposed to post just to increase the post count. But this is a special post for me, number ten thousand, marking almost 7 years of using this site. In that time I've gone from forum user to moderator on here, and from a hobbyist to professional game developer in real life. Somewhere in the middle I managed to submit a fairly useful article, too. So thanks to all those who've helped me with my questions over the years, and I hope I've been paying the community back in turn. Here's to the next 10,000 posts!

Then someone like sicrane would use the undelete function, and we would see jpetrie to enter suspension period with juicy warning on the top.

Well now here's a well timed thread for my 555th post.

This would mark 7 years, 4 month of using this site. In that time I've seen I think 3 or 4 waves of inexperienced noobs turn to informed productive members of the community here. In that time I myself have turned from enthusiastic hobbiest to a lazy disillusioned coder who is no longer motivated to work on his own projects (but that could just be a winter depression thing lately). Watching the culture change or even seeing history repeat itself has been as fascinating as the new developments in technology themselves. This place is responsible for putting new ways of thinking and new thoughts in my head even though I rarely express them.

Congrats :) Funnily enough I came across your profile last night and noticed the 9,999 post count at that point.

Almost 8 years here myself and I'm only on a very lowly 1,120 posts. A relative lurker by all accounts.

I guess I had best get busy (or just procrastinate a bit!).
