I want to know how does one make an automated test for their game? What I mean by automated test is that for a game, a person can just leave the game running and let it do the mouse clicks and button presses on it's own. How do you do something like that?

You could let AI players play against eachother (or play on their own for that matter) and then just record the whole thing on several levels (depending on the test).
You could also record input from a user-played game and run/test the game with that (to run it with different quality settings, for instance).
But both ideas depent on the game and the test - you can do it in a variety of ways.
