As you can see from my Username I was not too creative. I was just wondering where people got there cool sounding usernames. Are they from books or just made up words? I would like to have something more creative but I don't know where to get one.

I killed a guy and stole his identity.

I have been striving for years to find the perfect screen name. I have yet to come up with it.

1 5u99053 u c0u7|) ju57 7yp3 y0ur n4m3 1n 50me r1|)1(u10u5 v4r14710n 0n 574n|)4r|) 3n9715h. But that's really annoying and reserved for script kiddies.

Because of a family tradition, I do not actually remember my full legal name,... Seeing as it is printed in 10pt font and takes up nearly two pages.

I just picked initials at random till I got something that sounded like you could say it.

(for those wondering what the tradition is: All males take their fathers FULL name, and have their 'own' added to it, which isn't always a single name. Now run this tradition for about 50 or more generations)
Old Username: Talroth
If your signature on a web forum takes up more space than your average post, then you are doing things wrong.
Moe
Moe
Nickname when I was a kid. I liked the Mo-jo candies.

Talroth: That's actually kind of cool sounding.

speciesUnknown: What scares me is I was almost able to read that as fast as normal English. [disturbed]

Benjamin Heath: Yes, but did you kill him in Reno?

Mine used to be "acidwillburnyou". Pretty straightforward isn't it? [grin]

Koobs

I needed something that wasn't my real name for some web site a few years back. I glanced around my desk and saw a "Lindsay Technical Books" catalog. With that, Koobs Nical was born.
If you're confused, then you probably suck at Boggle.

Trapper Zoid
Trapper Zoid
"Trapper Zoid" is obviously from trapezoid, which was key part of a research algorithm I was working on at the time. Plus I really like the word; I like how due to a quirk of English it means something completely different in British English versus American English.

It's also a very obscure reference to a comic I wrote in high school on the back of maths exam about Captain Quadrilateral's battle against the evil Dr. Parabola. In retrospect "Dr. Parabola" is a much cooler name.

These days in new forums I go by the handle "Trazoi"; it's a shorter and uniquer form of my nickname here.

I don't even want to talk about it...

Actually I was drawing blanks when I had to create an email account about 8 years ago, and it was the first thing that popped into my head. Dashu was the name of the dog that lived in the appartment next to my girlfriend, and RC are my initials.

Pretty lame, but at least if I use it for most things I'll remember my user name more often than not.

Well I ahve an extremely common name "Paul", so to avoid getting all the Paul34115 kind of name, I just took the name from one of my RPG characters. I figgured that no one would actually have a name like that, and it shortens down quite well (some people have thought that it was my real name - go figgure :D ).
PsychoPumpkin
PsychoPumpkin
Mine comes from bands I like. Many years ago I went by PsychoTron (a song by Megadeth) but kept seeing other people using it. I also like the band Helloween so I switched to PsychoPumpkin.

Rock on! [smile]
Rydinare
Rydinare
Rydinare is the name of my first major character when I played an online game back over 10 years ago. I've kept the name as my most common online handle since then, although I've used other interesting ones, as well. I don't remember how I originally came up with it.

Wan

I first used it as a nick in this game, which we played frequently over the office internal network. I took the first syllable of the game's title, and then appended a word to conceal how much I sucked at it.

By the time I finally registered here, I had become my default user name.
