I'm trying to build opensteer in xcode on mac. The opensteer download comes with an xcode project file, which I load, but when I try to build a load of errors come up such as: Line Location SteerLibrary.h:247: error: (if you use '-fpermissive', G++ will accept your code, but allowing the use of an undeclared name is deprecated) Line Location SteerLibrary.h:247: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:247: error: (if you use '-fpermissive', G++ will accept your code, but allowing the use of an undeclared name is deprecated) Line Location SteerLibrary.h:247: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:248: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:248: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:252: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:252: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:253: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:253: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:258: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:258: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:259: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:259: error: there are no arguments to 'forward' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'forward' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:330: error: there are no arguments to 'side' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'side' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:330: error: there are no arguments to 'up' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'up' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:330: error: there are no arguments to 'up' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'up' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:330: error: there are no arguments to 'side' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'side' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:343: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:343: error: there are no arguments to 'position' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'position' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:344: error: there are no arguments to 'velocity' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'velocity' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:344: error: there are no arguments to 'velocity' that depend on a template parameter, so a declaration of 'velocity' must be available Line Location SteerLibrary.h:357: error: 'position' was not declared in this scope Line Location SteerLibrary.h:357: error: 'position' was not declared in this scope I'm not a programming noob, but when it comes to setting up projects I'm not so good at it. Add to that the fact that I am definately a mac/xcode noob, and... yeah. I just cant figure this out. I've found this link which suggests changing from gcc 4 to gcc 3.3 would solve the problem: http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=1481921&forum_id=264792 But then I've found this link which suggests gcc 3.x isnt intel compatible - and as my macbook pro is an intel, I'm unsure if 3.3 would be of any use: http://www.maccompanion.com/macc/archives/November2007/Columns/AccordingtoHoyle27.htm Any ideas, anyone? I'm thinking installing windows might be my only hope... Cheers
