Jeez. If you're going to do an April fool's joke at least make it halfway believable. There is no way that a sit down with the police would only take half an hour.

Not only that, but Superpig is not stupid enough to talk about it here until the matter is dealt with.

They told me that they'd be wanting me to ask questions to the community on their behalf later on. No idea what they want to ask you guys but they said it would be OK to tell you all that something was happening.

SiCrane: yeah, I was surprised, but they got to the point pretty quickly. They were from some kind of cybercrime unit so they knew what they were talking about.

Maybe UK police are more efficient than their American counter parts. I've been arrested once, brought in for questioning twicethree times, finger printed twice and had police visit me at my home three times and none of those were what you call quick affairs. Except for the one time when the officer was just there to say that the village had an ordinance about letting the lawn grow too much and it had to be mowed.

But yeah, I agree about how short that 'sit down' was. I've had a sit down with a constable once to talk about getting permission for students to paint over the graffiti on the back of the station and it took an hour or more. (yes, of all the buildings in the town I grew up on, the main one kids liked to 'tag' was the police station,... And no, I never heard of anyone getting caught doing it)

I had cops show up at 6am on New Years Day when I was 15, asking if my friends and I thought it would be cool to kill the farmer across the street. Apparently, a witness said they saw a black car in front of his mail box, which was right next to my mail box, and we had a black car in our driveway. Why I would drive it to the end of the driveway just to sneak into his mailbox... well, it's not like cops are the sharpest tacks in the box.

for the record, the farmer accidentally killed himself with his own truck

Something's definitely happened to Zahlman. It seems that beyond his job and his activities on GDNet, he was involved in some kind of internet vigilante thing. I've been told not to talk about what sort of things he was doing but it sounds like he may have pissed off some fairly nasty people.
