Obama is Jewish?

The "jewish cap" you refer to has a name, just so you know. I would suggest for the future that you word your posts a bit more carefully so that those of us who are jewish aren't offended.

RE: that article. It is a sign of respect for any male to wear a yarmulke (there are other words/spellings you may recognize) during jewish religious ceremonies, etc. He was probably wearing it to be respectful of the occasion.

I think it's worth pointing out a bit of corporate media bias here. Corporate media repeats the story that Obama has a problem with Jewish voters. They say that the Rev. Wright's ties with Louis Farrakhan made Jewish voters nervous about Obama and that with Joe Lieberman backing McCain there was no way that Obama would get support from Jewish voters. Well guess what? The corporate media is all wrong on this. POLL: J Street National Jewish Adults: Obama 62, McCain 32. That's a difference of 30 points! (See also New Survey of the American Jewish Community). According to that poll, Obama has a higher favorable rating with American Jews than Joe Lieberman! Nevertheless, don't expect corporate media to update their narrative. They're more interested in conditioning your beliefs to conform with beltway beliefs than they are in keeping you informed.

I can't speak for other jews, but I consider Lieberman to be something of a sell out. He seems to be what I like to call a "Republicrat". He seems to me to be far more concerned with maintaining his seat than actually fighting for any particular ideas. Just my $0.02 + tax

Jewish skullcap? Great, now every time someone refers to this, the first thing that will pop into my head is Obama with Diablo's skull cap on.

On a side note, if I saw someone actually wearing one of those, they'd get my vote even if they're not running for president.

Given that he lost the Democratic primary to Ned Lamont, I'd say that it's not just Jews that think he's a sell out. After hearing chants of "Sore-Loserman" back in 2000, I think it would be utterly ironic if McCain picked him to be his running mate.

QFT, because I find stupid political circuses like this stupidly stupid. It was in the media for 3 fucking months, with people travelling from as far as Israel to visit him and tell him off.
