Getting Frames From a Webcam?

I'm writing a program that needs to proccess and display the frames captured by a webcam in real-time. I've found a library called Vcap that makes the job simple, but I have some issues with it: It's stuck at 15 FPS even though my webcam is capable of capturing 30 FPS (some 3rd party programs I have installed are able to get 30 FPS from it), and it locks the whole program at 15 FPS for some reason, while I want the program to run smoothly and independently. I'm not sure why it's locked on 15 FPS. It runs at a steady 15 FPS regardless of resolution or exposure. (Tried setting it twice as high or twice as low with no effect on the FPS.) Does anyone know of a library (or has some source code) that can do the job while avoiding the issues listed above? Thanks in advance. Stas B.

I would take a look at DirectShow and the SampleGrabber filter.

I found a very useful webcam capture library called ESCAPI:

Works like magic. Very simple to use and avoids the issues listed in my original post.
