I had a dream last night.....

Were there long dogs involved?

And space pipes?

I can out-geek that. My dream last night was that I was an orienteering race and having difficulty because the map was inexplicably non-Euclidean.

And no, I don't need any help interpreting what it means. My subconscious tends to be pretty easy to decipher [smile].

Well, it could have been worse. At least it wasn't the world that was non-Euclidian.

It was a dream world - they usually aren't Euclidean for me! [grin]

Actually, in retrospect that would explain the map. Maybe next time I can get dream-me to finish the course.

I once dreamt that I was a spaceship.

Not that I was ABOARD a spaceship, that I WAS a spaceship. I was its autopilot, and had to monitor all its subsystems, keep the crew alive, etc...

It was very strange.

I dont drink much but over last weekend i've been to two parties and have had a fair bit to drink. both nights ive had problems sleeping for EXACTLY 1 hour because i keep getting a flash of spaghetti java code that i think i have to decipher for work. i knew that it was a dream but even when i went to the toilet i still thought i had to sort this code out for work. weird

I once had a dream about a 70's style disco club filled with nothing but domesticated chimps. They were all wearing disco outfits too. Platform shoes, sequin vests, the works. And rather than communicate with each other with sign language, the chimps would dance in sentences. When they did this, I saw subtitles appear. No kidding. Subtitles. In a dream. Disco dancing chimps.

That's the only time in my life I've ever woken up laughing.

I once had a dream that my rating rose > 1.1k.

I don't remember what I was doing, and the only other user I remember seeing was speciesUnknown, or his avatar at least.

I once had a dream that some virus or spyware or something got on my computer and was posting all kinds of terrible spam on GameDev under my username. Fortunately everyone believed me and helped walk me through how to get it off my computer :).

I was a half hour late for school once because the old man wouldn't stop talking about his new fireplace and it would have been rude to leave in the middle of a conversation. Thing was, though, the fireplace wasn't even installed yet...*

(*This is of course a dream I had, except for the part where I was late for school. That part was horribly true.)

Funny that this thread about strange dreams appeared, because I was just about to make my own.
Last night, for some reason, I had a dream about my laptop being infected with a trojan. I can't make out the details of the dream, but I do remember distinctly that the laptop was infected, and I was furiously trying to fix it.

After I had woken up, I didn't think much of it. Eventually, I did sit down in front of my laptop and it was working just fine. After about a couple of hours though, it suddenly became infected with a trojan! A really nasty one too, the background was swapped with spam while tabs and buttons from the actual Windows interface disappeared, preventing me from changing the background.

I quickly unplugged my network cable to prevent the damn thing from spreading, and tried fixing it with my antivirus. But to no avail, bluescreens started appearing and the trojan also kept killing the antivirus. It's not a big deal, I already have backups of all my important stuff and the laptop needs a good reformat anyway.

But the fact that I dreamt about it in advance mildly disturbs me. It's impossible that this was just a coincidence, I very very rarely get infected with trojans/viruses (it hasn't happened more than once in my entire lifetime.)
Maybe I should start doing computer fortunetelling. [grin]

Maybe it's not computer foretunetelling. Maybe you've gained the power to infest computers with trojans using nothing but the power of your mind!
