I am using OpenGL with SDL, and Lib3DS. I was using the Donkey Dump Tutorial, but when I create an instance of the class CModel3DS, I get a linker error that says: error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol _lib3ds_file_load referenced in function "public: __thiscall CModel3DS::CModel3DS(class std::basic_string<char,struct std::char_traits<char>,class std::allocator<char> >)" (??0CModel3DS@@QAE@V?$basic_string@DU?$char_traits@D@std@@V?$allocator@D@2@@std@@@Z) I'm calling the function lib3ds_file_load, which is a Lib3ds function, in the ctor of my CModel3DS class here: // Load 3DS model CModel3DS::CModel3DS(std::string filename) { // prepend path filename = "assets\\Models\\Meshes\\" + filename; // convert filename to lowercase letters _strlwr_s((char*)filename.c_str(), filename.length() + 1); m_TotalFaces = 0; m_model = lib3ds_file_load(filename.c_str()); } In main I have this: CModel3DS * myMesh = new CModel3DS("teapot.3ds"); When I compile and link my project everything goes smoothly and works, and links. I include the .lib in the Visual Studio Project properties settings and that works as well, but once I try to invoke the ctor of my CModel3DS class, with: CModel3DS *gameModel = new CModel3DS("teapot.3ds"); The compiler gives me the linker errors.

I would try this:

#pragma comment(lib, "xxx.lib")

At the top of your program.

That didn't work, but thanks for the advice anyways.
