ive been trying to run my app on a new machine but it immediately crashes and wont do anything. it works on the machines that it has been compiled on, but when i grab the release folder from visual studio and take it to another machine that it has never been compiled on and try to run it, it crashes. i went through the event manager to see what i could find and it gave me this Fault bucket 355761454, type 5 Event Name: CLR20r3 Response: None Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: wpviewdxtestapp.exe P2: 1.0.0.0 P3: 48f50944 P4: SlimDX P5: 2.0.5.39 P6: 48c6b522 P7: 6d1 P8: 3a P9: SlimDX.Direct3D10.Direct3D10 P10: i have installed .net 3.5, slimdx and directx10 on this machine as well as all the windows updates. i tried using process monitor to see if anything was messing up but i cant really tell, there are a couple of buffer overflows, it was looking for a couple of ini's which dont exist, and its trying to create some files in \microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\en\ which kinda looks like .net 2.0 or something, other than that its a million operations that i have no idea about

At the very least, you'll need the VC runtimes installed, in addition to what you specified.

Also, when you say "DirectX10", you need one at least the same or later than the edition of the SDK that was released (they get updates along with the SDKs).

i feel kinda stupid now, the problem was that i forgot to change

usercontrol.g_pd3dDevice = new D3D10.Device(D3D10.DeviceCreationFlags.Debug);

to

usercontrol.g_pd3dDevice = new D3D10.Device(D3D10.DeviceCreationFlags.None);

for the release version.
