I am a novice at network setup but am familiar with setting up a wireless network... I currently have Verizon Fios Internet and TV service so I have to use there router in order to get TV Service Guides and OnDemand. Anyways the router stinks and is so slow so basically im just going to use it for the TV Service. Verizon installed a box in my closet that has one port for a CAT5 cable which is currently plugged into the ActionTec router they supplied would you let me know if this setup I have in mind will work. Also I have a block of 13 static IP address and basically need to figure out how to get the IP's pointed to internal IP's or specific ports. So I plan on unplugging the ActionTec router and plugging in a Gigabit Switch in its place to open additional ports and will then plug in the ActionTech router to one of the available ports on the switch and then hook up a gigabit wired router to the switch as well, I am using this router as it has two WAN ports so I can have cable as backup Internet all plugged in to the same router, and then was going to plug in a wireless router into one of the available ports on that wired router to setup wireless. Now will this setup work? And how do I get everything to communicate with eachother and also how do I get the static IP's to get to where I need them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.... Im new at this so need everything broken down a bit....
