If you download the free visual c++ express from Microsoft and then register, does it check to see if your OS is pirated and then give you those annoying "windows genuine" nags every two minutes until you format your hard drive and reinstall the pirated OS? I'm only asking because uh... my friend has a pirated copy of windows and I'm trying to convince him to get a legal copy of windows because pirating software is so very wrong. When will people learn?

I don't remember it asking about Genuine Windows, but I have a valid, registered copy so I probably didn't pay attention if it did ask.

Would it not be easy enough to get your "friend" to buy a genuine copy of Windows? Did the PC not come with a copy of Windows?

No.

When you have the ability to type out something, figure out a better way to skirt around the situation at hand other than: "because uh... my friend." It takes a real special kind of moron to even fail at telling a lie through text. I want to suspend you just for the pure idiocy that shows.

Also: This has nothing to do with "general programming."
