Hello! Brief description: Im looking a programmer for a java based hack n slash roguelike game. Target aim: For those who have played nethack, adom and such know the atraction on those games and sadly there hasnt been new roguelikes made on internet, so i just wondered that i could make up one, with stone-aged graphics and a bit easier user interface so that new players could also get in the hang of it. And those who hasnt, its all about a huge dungeon filled with crawling beasts and loot, that you have to be able to play the right way or you will die. Its basicly all about trying to survive to the end, getting better equipment, playing with the tricks and things that the game has to offer and enjoying the adventures that a fully random world has to offer. I really dont want to even make the game to be the next brainless world of warcraft of halo, making a game to enjoy is enought. It doesnt have to give the player the biggest kind of visual entertainment but maby some fun moments with adventures in the dungeons and tight moments with monster hordes. Compensation: No money involved, im not planning on making hobby into a business. If it gets very popular we will use all of the income for the games advantage and charity. Technology: Java, Flash enything that you can use in a internet game. Talent needed: For the team, a basic turn based hack n slash shouldnt take too much coding "skillz". You dont have to be able to make 3d physic models, huge open area fights or enything like that. I think that a normal hobbyist programmer could fill up the requirements needed. Alltought, i would be pleased that if the future programmer would have played some roguelike, or even tested one (alltought its not strict requirement) Team structure: For now i work as the graphics lead and game desine. Contacts: IF interested you can contact me via email: zamotair@hotmail.com Previous Work by Team: I have made graphics for a few projects (games), unfortunedly they are not out yet. For now i dont have more than that, i think that i know the basics from game making all tile stuff, structure, the point of thinking and understanding for fustration and the time that a game takes to make. Additional Info: Then i have a screenshot to show: http://img370.imageshack.us/img370/6925/roskaa2mp8.png "It is said that the dungeon is a thousand lairs deep and it crawls with beasts that hasnt been seen with human eyes, for that who claims the heart of the One at the lowest lair may become a true king of the world." Feedback: For the feedback, just shut-up allready. [Edited by - Makkara on December 20, 2008 9:21:01 AM]
