Hello all my name is Dmitri and I'm 19 years old (20 soon). I'm a student at college concentrating at Software Engineering. I started with C about 6 years ago, and around 3 yeas ago learned C++ (I can't say I know all the corners of C++, but I know enough and learn fast). In college I'm also learning Java. What do I know: C - Very good level. C++ - Good level. Java - Beginner. AI - read few articles and one book, no real experience. 3D - OpenGL, few example of Ogre3D. 2D - SDL. C++ is my main language and I'm looking for C++ projects. What I'm looking for: * A project for my free time. * Preferably project with some real goals (even if I wont stay in the team and see the release I prefer to know my code will be helpful and not just "shelf code" that never will see its release). * Small/Medium team, my time is limited and I can't solo so I'm looking for team with some active members. * Cross platform. Sorry for all DirectX programmer, but Linux is my main OS therefore I want some cross-platform technologies (OpenGL, Ogre3D, SDL) and not tied to one machine and one OS. * Fun people/team. What I'm not looking for: * Positions that is not related to programming in C++ (I have no idea how to manage projects, I'm not a composer or designer, I can suggest in those topics but not being in those roles). * People who will treat to me as code robots. I'm a human also and I want others to understand me and my position. I'm a student and my free time is random, I can have few weeks free and then not a single free minute so I want people to understand it and not push on me. I don't take more than I can do. If I say I can do it that Ill do it in time, and if not Ill inform that I need more time. Compensation: Everything, I don't have any problem to code for free. But of course it will be not fair if the project will successful and I wont be payed. Thats it I think. For questions and suggestions you can send me PM here in GameDev.net or via email s.kwee357 [at] gmail [dot] com Merry Christmas!
I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

Hi Dmitri, I hope all the college work is going well. You seem like an ideal C++ programmer for our project; which is based on our own game engine exclusively for our game; Into The Black, which is an RPG that starts off in 2D for early releases, then will have later releases in 3D. If you join us, you would be working along with a group of programmers who regularly meet up on a weekly basis to chat about life, programming and the game. It is a relaxed environment and we understand if you are busy; we are busy studying and paying the bills ourselves.

You are invited to browse through our website and our blog to get a sense of what this project is about, which has been under development for 2 years; we are not rushing. Fill in the 'join us' form and say that Chris invited you.

Hi Dimitri,

My team, Black Dragon Games, www.blackdragongames.co.uk , are looking for a programmer with experience to expand our team, and feel you fit the bill. We currently have graphic artists with no work, and a space free on our programming team, so if you would be interested in creating simulators along the lines of football manager, total extreme warfare etc then please contact me on carlbrindle@blackdragongames.co.uk

The same goes for anyone else :)

[EDIT]
Oh, and a Happy New Year!
What do I expect? A young man's quest to defeat an evil sorceror while discovering the truth of his origins. A plucky youngster attended by her brutish guardian. A powerful artifact which has been broken into a small number of artifactlets distributed around the world. What do I want? Fewer damn cliches. - Sneftel
