Hey. I've got boost installed on my system but it's a version that doesn't have unordered stuff with it... just curious how I can get unordered from boost without downloading the whole release again... Cheers.

What exactly did you download then? And how do you know there's no unordered stuff there?

I downloaded the boost installer I'm pretty sure... I looked through the boost directory and couldn't find any unordered stuff... did a search.. nothing. I'm pretty sure it's version 1_34_1 as that's what the lib files are named as... how do you tell? :s

Cheers.

Ideally you would download the latest version (1.37.0), but I suppose you could try copying the source code for unordered_set and unordered_map, along with their dependencies, into the appropriate directories.

I usually would just download it but I'm capped and on dial-up speed because of it... I tried making the files myself like you suggested but get over 400 errors (I'm presuming to do with the fact that the code is missing stuff due to it not being 1_37_0):
Quote:

You can download the boost sources and compile them yourself. The Boost 1.37 sources is only about 56 MB, and it's pretty easy to build yourself. Just follow the instructions on the Getting Started page.

Yeah. I just wanted to make sure that there wasn't a way to get individual files. It took about 3 hours but I downloaded 1_37_0.

@ Promethium: Pretty sure you don't have to compile Boost.

Most of the time boost stuff compiles along with your application. There are a number of boost libraries that require to be separately compiled though.
