Hey, I have a shopping mall which I already made using apparently an outdated technique for drawing :P. I've updated and am currently using "CodeBlocks" instead of BCB for this because I'm not even having a GUI so what's the point for BCB :P. Anyway, I have a question about optimization for the project I am making... I have a program that is constantly making new shoppers, which gain an X or Y coordinate depending on the location they need to go to. The new technique for drawing is to have pre-set memory allocations, which I believe is so that it doesn't have to release and make new memory allocations everytime the draw function is called... My question is whether my draw function should still use the basic code which is just the glBegin(GL_QUADS) and make a box with vertices or should I use the vertex still because it is more optimized? Please bare in mind I am on vicodin right now so my question may sound really screwed up... But I'm hoping someone already has looked up NeHe's functions and knows what I mean by the difference of his old tutorials and his new ones.
