What do the debug runtimes tell you the problem is? Are you checking for support of everything before going and creating the device? In particular, the backbuffer format, the depth buffer format, the compatibility of the depth buffer with the backbuffer, and the ability to use that backbuffer format in the current graphics mode if you're running windowed?

I think Powershot is having the problem when he/she runs this game, not his/her own program.

Powershot - this site doesn't really offer tech support for game problems. You'd be better to post on the publisher/developer's own website forums if they have such a thing.

Ah, I missed that. It sounds to me like your laptop's graphics card can't do something that is required. There might be more information in an error log if there is one, but as EasilyConfused said, we can't really help with technical support.
