I'm looking for a lightweight and FAST image loading solution. One of the features it needs to support is loading from memory instead of loading from file. Can anyone recommend any libraries? I've looked into Devil and CImg and they are my top picks thus far, but im worried that they might be too heavy (especially with Devil's helper libraries).

What size limits are you trying to stay under?

The smallest you are likely to find given its features is the incredibly tiny STBI, which loads jpeg, png, bmp, psd and hdr, from memory or disk, and all in a single source file.

Slightly larger, is SOIL, which is a wrapper around STBI, adding tga and dds loading, along with opengl texture support.

I love Corona :-), it's small and feature-rich, yet not bulky I feel.
