SDL is really not working and no matter what I try, I get another kind of problem. I've already made a few threads and this may be getting annoying but I need it fixed.

#include <SDL/SDL.h>

int main(int argc, char* args[] )
{

SDL_Init( SDL_INIT_EVERYTHING );

SDL_Quit();

return 0;
}

Simple, yes? NO! I always get a window pop up after it runs saying: "The procedure entry point SDL_strlcat could not be located in the dynamic link in library SDL.dll" Now, I did a complete clean up of ALL my .dll files on my computer with RegistryBooster 2 to see if it fixed it but it did not. Is there a way to know which version of SDL.dll I have so I can find the right one? And is there a website of a list of them so I can find out which I need? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you have multiple versions of SDL on your machine and the wrong DLL is being found first.

I would recommend removing SDL from your path if its in it and copy the correct SDL.dll to the application directory. If you copied SDL.dll to C:/windows/system32 you need to remove it from there as well. Copy the correct version of SDL.dll to the directory that has your .exe file that you are building. This needs to be the same one from the library that you are linking against.

I'm not why you used registryBooster2. It has to do with missing symbols inside a DLL. It's also very unlikely to help with any other coding problems.

Try using the program depends (http://www.dependencywalker.com/) on your application and it will tell you which DLL's your app is pulling in (as well as what those DLL's are pulling in.

Cheers,

Bob
