How do I get a shader such as earth in GL2 folder into my game from Render Monkey? Iv seen a lot of discussion on how well Render Monkey is, but its like no one goes on any details on getting the shader into a game coded in C++ for OpenGL or anything like that. For DirectX users yeah they made it very simple, but why no explanation for OpenGL user's? Thanks, Andrew. [Edited by - ajm113 on March 10, 2009 9:35:31 PM]
Check out my open source code projects/libraries! My Homepage You may learn something.

First step is learning how to use shaders in opengl
http://www.lighthouse3d.com/opengl/glsl/

Second step is copying and using the shaders with your code... after you know glsl shaders and understand the concept of passes (used on Render monkey for most effects) the rest gets a little intuitive.

Just took a look in the Earth project of render monkey and it will be very easy to integrate into your code... it has only one pass and a few uniform variables.
You will only need a sphere model and bind the three textures to test it. If you follow the tutorial I don't think you'll find any trouble implementing it.
