Hello I want to implement a subsystem that can automatically update the system to the lastest version via internet. It is similar to those MMORPGs that once you start the program, the system will automatically download the needed files to keep the system updated. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance Leo

The normal way to do this is to have a launcher application that:

*Contacts your server to ask what the latest version is:
If the latest version is newer than the one the user allready have:
1) Download the latest patch
2) Apply the patch
* Launch the application.

The only part that is actually a bit tricky is to create the patchfile and apply the patchfile. (This however is still done in exactly the same way as with offline patches and there are tools available (both free and commercial ones) that does this for you)

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

Thanks for the info.
Sorry that the title may be misunderstood.
The "tools" are what my question is.

So I need some suggestions on what tools are better for game softwares.
Just the name will be good enough, and I will search the produce info online

Thanks for the help

Leo
