Hello, This was my post at the Irrlicht forum (at the end of this paragraph), but I guess its "general enough" to post here. I didn't get a reply there yet, this is a faster forum. I am considering switching engines because of this poor performance, or is this normal? Or must I be doing something wrong with Irrlicht? Cheers, Hello, I'm on a Mobility Radeon X1400 with a duo core 1.6ghz each. I have a single model in a world. The model is an animated model of 800 polygons. The world is 200 polygons. It's all dummy art. I added a shadow volume scene node to the model, and not to the world. How come my performace drops to below 60 FPS? What could cause it? Are there things I need to know? The world is optimised with an octree, I shoot like 4 rays per frame, and I take some input to make a character jump. If shadow volume creation is a CPU task ( which I think is the way it's implemented right? ), does Irrlicht support multithreading? I am assuming it doesn't ( from the task manager...), how would I add that without going into the source? And I don't wanna put the graphics in 1 thread, I want to split up Irrlicht's tasks ( or have Irrlicht do it itself ). Edit: Or is that normal performance?
